Little gray bird with key

I know Spring is at the door when I start hearing the birds outside singing. They bring us a light joyful greeting with the arrival of warm weather and Spring flowers.

Keys have been coming up for me a lot lately, so I decided to welcome Spring with a new embroidery, a little gray bird with a found key. Because I tend to overthink things I did a little research on keys.

Some of the volunteers I know are even wearing a key around their neck to symbolize the hardships of the Syrian refuge crisis. Many Syrians are still carrying their keys with them to this day, hoping to go home to a peaceful Syria.

"The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best." ~ Epictetus

There are many bible verses with "keys" in them.

To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
~ Revelation 3:7

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
~Matthew 16:19

I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
~Isaiah 22
